Barry Golson



Barry Golson is an award-winning journalist, editor and author.

Most recently Barry co-authored, with wife Thia Golson, the book "Retirement Without Borders: How to Retire Abroad--in Mexico, France, Italy, Spain, Costa Rica, Panama, and Other Sunny, Foreign Places (And the Secret to Making It Happen Without Stress)"

Before that, Barry wrote "Gringos in Paradise: An American Couple Builds Their Retirement Dream House in a Seaside Village in Mexico"

Prior to that Golson was editor-in-chief of ForbesTraveler.com, a webside dedicated to luxury travel destinations.

From 1997 - 2002 Barry served as editor-in-chief of "Yahoo Internet Life," a consumer magazine that covered topics related to the Internet.

In the early and mid 90s Golson was a top editor at "TV Guide."

Before that Barry created and launched the short-lived "Men's Life," a magazine focusing on issues related to (you guessed it) men.

In the 1970s and 80s Barry Golson was an editor at "Playboy" magazine, serving as executive editor for 12 of those years. He edited the Playboy interviews, including the interviews with Jimmy Carter and John Lennon.

Barry has a B.A. from Yale University, where he started a weekly lifestyle section for the campus newspaper, the Yale Daily News. He also pursued graduate studies at Stanford University.

Barry and his wife, Thia Golson, live in New York City. They have two grown sons, who sometimes don't call home enough.
